EYE AREA REJUVENATION

The skin surrounding your eyes is particularly delicate, compared to the rest of your face.  Often one of the first places you notice signs of ageing and appearing tired no matter how much sleep you got the night before.

NATURE TAKING ITS COURSE

Fine lines around the eyes are perhaps the most common sign of ageing and it happens to nearly everyone at some point.

Collagen and elastin start to decrease around age 30.  Collagen is like concrete in a brick wall, it holds your cells (the bricks) together and gives your skin structure. Less collagen means less volume as well as weaker skin that is more prone to wrinkles.  Creases also form as your skin starts producing less elastin, a protein that is essential for keeping skin flexible so that it can bounce back into place, especially after laughing or frowning.

Dark circles and hollows under the eyes are common with both men and women.  Under eye hollowing is mainly caused by cheek sagging. As the cheek muscles begin to droop downward with age, tear troughs form.

Dark circles can be harder to remedy, and more advanced cosmetic treatments may be needed. When you see dark under eye circles, what you are really seeing is pooling in blood vessels under the eyes. Also, as we mature our upper eyelids tend to sag or become droopy.

REVERSING THE TREND

Anti-Wrinkles, Dermal Filler, Platelet Rich Plasma Injections and Laser Treatments.

Injectables are a fantastic way to treat wrinkles and fine lines anywhere on the face and the eye area is no exception. Hollows and dark circles can be restored by using a combination of dermal filler, PRP and laser treatments.

Anti-Wrinkles injections can achieve younger-looking skin and can also prevent new wrinkles by keeping the muscles and skin relaxed.

PRP uses your own platelet-rich plasma to stimulate tissue repair. PRP works to naturally smooth and tighten the skin, creating a more youthful, plumper appearance.  PRP can be injected as well as needled into the delicate skin surrounding the eyes.  The effects of PRP are not immediate, they may take a number of weeks to appear, and a series of treatments will provide the best results.

Collagen stimulators will also provide a fuller appearance and like PRP will work by producing your own natural collagen to rejuvenate the area.  As with PRP improvements are gradual and a series of treatments will provide the best results. For a more immediate result, dermal filler injected into the hollows can rejuvenate the under-eye area and provide a fuller, a more youthful appearance.

Treating the area with Laser will help brighten and tighten the skin.  Lasers not only reduce dark pigment, lasering the area also encourages collagen growth after the procedure.

While results with laser can be seen in as little as one week, they will slowly improve overtime.  Treatments can be repeated every month to maintain a healthy and youthful appearance.
